Rabbit Body Areas

I have a girl rabbit who is approximately two years old, and in the last two days I've noticed she has been holding one ear back and sometimes will shake her head as if it's bothering her.

I've tried to look in her ear to see if it looks red or anything but she is kind of skittish.

I don't know if it could be an ear infection or something else.

Could be any number of things...

Good question Cheyenne and you'll be surprised as to how common this question is so hopefully the following will help answer all possibilities.

There could be any number of reasons for rabbit head shaking, some are harmless but if left may develop in to something more serious.

Without seeing your bunny or knowing more about her it's very difficult to offer more accurate help, but hopefully the answers here will help you (and maybe others) to determine if a trip to the vet is necessary in your personal circumstances.

I have written a comprehensive page of possible causes and some treatments (including the more natural approaches) here for you.
